  Raging passion, pulsating gypsy music and a love story that breaks the rules – the most spectacular operetta show of all time awaits the audience at the MVM Dome on March 26, 2026. The new operetta Dankó Pista, with music by Péter Pejtsik and libretto by Dénes János Orbán, offers an insight into the romantic life of the king of Hungarian song.

  The protagonist is the celebrated gypsy prima donna Dankó Pista, whose heart is stolen by a mysterious Russian princess. The cast includes Lujza Blaha, the nation’s nightingale, and the most famous poets of the time, writers: Endre Ady, Géza Gárdonyi and Lajos Pósa.

  The stars of the Operetta Theatre, as well as Zoltán Mága, Mary Nótár, Elemér Duka & Gipsy Chamber Orchestra, Miklós Lakatos and her 300-member gypsy orchestra, the dancers of the Bozsik Yvette Company, the folk dance students of the Hungarian University of Dance and the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble Orchestra, have created a spectacular super production that will both excite the heart and shake the soul. The best-known Dankó hits – My violin is broken; They say there is no witch in Szeged; One cat, two cats… – come to life on the grandiose stage, as the entire arena of the MVM Dome turns into a stage for one evening. The collaboration of the director Yvette Bozsik, the costume designer Krisztina Berzsenyi, and the set and visual designer Attila Ferenczfy-Kovács – their trio guarantees an unforgettable experience.
