  SYNOPSISAct I: The Palace of the Khan

  • • The Festival: Queen Odaléa hosts an elaborate festival in her royal gardens, attended by her court and her faithful vizier, Almar.
    • The Intruder: A mysterious man, disguised as a wandering minstrel, gains entry to the palace grounds and approaches the Queen.
    • The Revelation: The stranger reveals himself as Condor, the formidable chief of the nomadic Order of Nere and son of Sultan Amurath.
    • The Declaration: Despite being traditional enemies, Condor confesses his deep love for Odaléa, who finds herself instantly captivated by him.
  Act II: The Nomadic Camp
  • • The Reunion: Condor returns to his desert camp, where his fiercely loyal nomadic followers await his command to strike the city.
    • The Confrontation: Almar tracks Condor down, leading a royal contingent to arrest the intruder and protect the crown.
    • The Capture: Rather than sparking a bloody battle that could endanger Odaléa’s kingdom, Condor surrenders peacefully to the royal guards.
    • The Vow: Condor’s followers swear a blood oath to infiltrate the city, burn it to the ground, and rescue their captured leader.
  Act III: The Burning City
  • The Trial: Back at the palace, Almar demands Condor’s execution for treason, but Odaléa hesitates, torn between duty and her love.
  • The Attack: The nomads execute their plan, launching a massive assault and setting Samarkand ablaze to create chaos.
  • The Choice: Amidst the roaring fires and rioting, Condor is freed but realizes that his love for Odaléa cannot coexist with the destruction of her world.
  • The Tragedy: To end the conflict and save Odaléa from the ruins of her kingdom, Condor stabs himself, dying in the arms of the weeping Queen.
