    With the “Lyrical Fusion Concert: From Opera to Víctor Jara” World Opera Day will be held at the El Patagual Amphitheater, in the commune of Olmué, paying tribute to the musical legacy of the outstanding Chilean singer-songwriter within the framework of the activities to commemorate the 50 years of the civic-military coup, organized by the Seremi of Cultures, Arts and Heritage of the Valparaíso Region.

    The “Lyrical fusion concert: From the opera to Víctor Jara” will be held next Wednesday, October 25, at 8 p.m., and will be with free admission until places are sold out. The space will have a capacity for a thousand people. 

    This event has had several months of preparation by the Marga Marga Orchestra, directed by Luis José Recart, a group that will be accompanied by outstanding lyrical singers and dancers, to present a string orchestra proposal, which mixes lyrical singing, dance and folklore. , in addition to the artist’s most recognized songs. Before the concert, the Olmué Children’s and Youth Orchestra will perform, made up of boys and girls from different locations, who will show all their musical skills.

    With extensive careers at a national and international level, working with prestigious directors and in important works of the operatic repertoire, the tenors José Azocar and Gonzalo Tomckowiack, members of “the Three Chilean Tenors” will be present in Olmué; the baritone Patricio Sabaté, awarded by the Chilean Art Critics Circle; the soprano Constanza Domínguez, trained in the USA and Teatro Colón; and the contralto Gloria Rojas; in addition to a dance cast made up of Catalina Riveros, Max Benítez and Francisca González.

    World Opera Day is celebrated every year on October 25 to commemorate the birth of the composer Georges Bizet, author of the famous opera work “Carmen”.
