ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Concert Program & Highlights- Reinhold Glière – Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra: The centerpiece of the evening. Performed by soloist Olga Dyadiv, this late-Romantic masterpiece is celebrated as one of the most technically and emotionally demanding works in the soprano vocal repertoire. The performance was met with overwhelming standing ovations.
- Yuri Laniuk – Chamber Symphony for Trio and String Orchestra: This performance marked the German premiere of the piece. It featured three of the orchestra’s section leaders as soloists: Viktor Glybochanu (violin), Bohdana Kozyrska (viola), and Ihor Chekailo (cello).
- Robert Schumann – Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major (“Rhenish”): A radiant piece closely connected to the landscapes and culture of the surrounding Rhineland.
- Encore: The orchestra concluded the evening with a festive performance of the iconic Ukrainian Christmas carol “Shchedryk” (known internationally as “Carol of the Bells”), arranged by the orchestra’s principal clarinetist, Dmytro Pashynsky.
