Dmytro Hnatyuk (1925-2016) – Ukrainian opera singer.
Dmytro Hnatyuk was known to the general public primarily as a performer of the legendary Ukrainian hits of the 60s – “Two Colors”, “Song about the Towel” and “How Not to Love You, My Kyiv!”. In total, during his life, the artist recorded more than 15 records and six CDs. He gave many concerts as a singer.On the opera stage, he created such original characters as Ostap, Nikolai (“Taras Bulba”, “Natalka-Poltavka” by Lysenko), Petruchio (“The Taming of the Shrew” by Shebalin), Mazepa, Onegin (“Mazepa”, “Eugene Onegin” by Tchaikovsky), Demon (“Demon” by Rubinstein), Figaro (“The Barber of Seville” by Rossini), Rigoletto (“Rigoletto” by Verdi).
As a director, he staged over 20 performances. He worked as the chief director of the National Opera, taught at the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. He was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada.
