Listeners will hear Ukrainian and world opera classics, as well as instrumental music and folk songs.
The anniversary evening opens with the second part of Mykhailo Kalachevsky’s “Ukrainian Symphony”.
Lyudmila Monastyrska, who participates in productions of world opera houses, will perform “Ave, Maria” by Franz Schubert and the Ukrainian folk song “Oh, I Know That I Have Sin” with the orchestra.
Also on the program are soloists Natalia Nikolaishyn (soprano), Oleksandr Boyko (baritone), Yelizaveta Lipityuk (soprano), Serhiy Bortnyk (tenor), Volodymyr Tyshkov (bass), and the Ukrainian Radio Bandura Trio: Tetyana Malomuzh, Kateryna Kovryk, and Olga Nyshchota. The orchestra will be accompanied by soloists Natalia Ligotska (dulcimer) and Iryna Pidperigora (mandolin).
Music lovers will hear the premiere of Louis Desormes’ “Tarantella with an Italian Temperament” performed by the orchestra’s soloist Irina Pidperigora (mandolin). In addition, Spanish music will be played on the air – Jerónimo Jiménez’s “Zapadeato” from the zarzuela “La Tempranika”.
Natalia Nikolayshyn (soprano) will perform the Ukrainian folk song “Ivanku, Ivanku”, and Natalia Ligotska (dulcimer) will perform “March Round Dance” by Romanian composer Grigorash Dinica. The duet of Zerlina and Don Juan from W. A. Mozart’s opera “Don Giovanni” will also be performed. Volodymyr Tyshkov will perform the Ukrainian folk song “One High Mountain”.
In addition, listeners will hear the romance “Black Eyebrows, Brown Eyes” and the Strelets song “The Steppe Wind Blowed.” The Trio of Bandura Players of Ukrainian Radio will perform Ivan Karabyts’ song “Only Cherries by the River” to a poem by Borys Oliynyk.
