ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

Christian Thielemann (born April 1, 1959), one of the greatest conductors of our time, best known in the classical and German romantic works – especially in that of Richard Wagner – is chief conductor of the Saxon Staatskapelle Dresden and artistic director of the Salzburg Easter Festival. Christian Thielemann works closely with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics, whose New Year’s Concert he conducted in 2019. For decades his conducting, 180 in number, has been inspiring at the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth, where he was the only artist besides Felix Mottl to conduct all ten music dramas of the performance canon.
