A discarded donkey playing the accordion, a singing rooster with a violin, a young wolfhound playing the saxophone, and a frightened cat drumming. Four animals together form a motley company. In the eyes of humans, the animals are too old or no longer fit to do their work. Full of energy, they throw themselves into a musical adventure.
Following the highly successful Reynard the Fox production, Holland Opera and Duda Paiva Company are collaborating again. Two-time Golden Pencil Award winner Simon van der Geest is once again writing the libretto. This time, the music is composed by Lucas Wiegerink. The direction is by Pim Veulings.
