Two childhood friends reunite after years in extraordinary circumstances. Both were taken into the army, and now Birdy is in a psychiatric hospital with a vague diagnosis. Al tries to help his friend, realising that Birdy’s youthful fascination with birds has become dangerous, and he cannot communicate with him anymore. What are Birdy’s extraordinary visions and unpredictable behaviour – an escape from reality, the symptoms of a weak mind, or unique artistic sensitivity? Will Al be able to communicate with him?
