On 13 June 2023, Opera Rara and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama hosted a lunchtime concert of bel canto treasures from the Foyle Opera Rara Collection with mezzo-soprano Kezia Bienek and pianist James Southall as a part of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World’s 40th Anniversary. This lunchtime concert, curated and introduced by musicologist and bel canto specialist Roger Parker, featured songs and operatic excerpts by Gaetano Donizetti and his contemporaries, mixing well-known examples of the mezzo-soprano repertoire with songs that have been hidden in the archives since their creation in the early 19th century.

Bei labbri che Amore formò by Gaetano Donizetti
Che non mi disse un dì! by Gaetano Donizetti
Occhio nero incendiator by Gaetano Donizetti

    La conocchia by Gaetano Donizetti
