Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio is quintessential Christmas classic. This concert at the Berlin Cathedral will feature the two cornerstone cantatas “Jauchzet, frohlocket! Auf, preiset die Tage” (Shout for joy, exult, rise up, praise the day) and “Herr, wenn die stolzen Feinde schnauben” (Lord, when our insolent enemies snort). Works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Theile, Maxim Berezovsky and Ganna Gavrylets as well as Ukrainian Christmas carols will also be performed.
