  For the first time, OperaVision is broadcasting the finals of the Ada Sari International Vocal Competition. Selected from over 200 participating young singers from 40 countries, the finalists will gather in Nowy Sącz to perform before a distinguished jury, accompanied by the Kraków Opera Orchestra under the direction of Marta Kluczyńska.

  The Ada Sari International Vocal Competition, held every two years since 1985 and organized by the Małopolska Cultural Center SOKÓŁ, was founded by Professor Helena Łazarska and Antoni Malczak. Numerous renowned Polish singers, including Piotr Beczała, Gabriela Legun, and Arnold Rutkowski, have already made their debuts on the competition stage in Nowy Sącz. The competition’s patron, Ada Sari (1886–1968), was herself an outstanding artist who took an unusual path from dramatic soprano to coloratura soprano. In the pre-streaming era, she was something of a global phenomenon, later inspiring generations of Polish singers
